THE ROAD & TRAIL ULTRA - 49KM

 
 

Saturday 3rd August - 49kms - The Ultra

2019 will be the first time we have hosted the 49km ultra run. This event is run on a mixture of country-road, farm track and bush trails - therefore it is a combination of road running and trail running. The race will start on the banks of the Williams River, on the edge of Dungog and follow the Fosterton Road out towards Moylans Road where it will head up in to the bush, before re-joining the Fosterton Road to return to Dungog.

START: 8:30am

DISTANCE: 49KM

CUT OFF: 7 hours (2:30pm) 

 

LOGISTICS

This is an event for a runner who understand the challenges of road and trail running over long distances and who will regularly check their location in order to stay on course.  Although it will be marked, this event will require the carrying of mandatory gear and the ability to comfortably complete 50 kms in seven hours or less.  The course will have aid stations every 10kms. 

GEAR

For your safety, you must carry the following mandatory gear at all times. 

Running race pack, with a thermal top, waterproof jacket, hat, suncream, mobile phone, whistle, survival blanket, food reserve, water, self adhesive elasticated bandage which can serve as a bandage or strapping.
